Statement of Purpose

Dear Expressionists,

When we founded Expressionary, we had a simple goal: to enable people to express themselves to those closest to them, like never before, while simultaneously using expression as an avenue to impact the lives of the less fortunate. We believe that most people are like us in that they have trouble letting those closest to them know how they feel. It is often this lack of communication that is central to the turmoil many of our relationships have, whether it be with friends, with lovers, or with parents.

At Expressionary we believe that giving is the greatest expression of caring and love. However, purchasing a gift at a department store rarely evokes the kind of emotional significance many of our relationships deserve. The gift of oneself, through thought and expression, is far more valuable a gift. At Expressionary, we believe that the right word has the power to save all, destroy all, stop the inevitable, and express the inexpressible.

We utilize a word recommendation algorithm, KHARIS, which suggests words that our
customers might not think of. This will allow individuals to assign words to already existing emotions. We want to help children connect with their grandparents, friends to understand their emotional dependence, and lovers to rekindle romances. With guided access to every existing word, our customers will be able to explain the emotions that build all of their unique relationships.

As we help others to connect with one another, we are also dedicated to helping the less fortunate. When each Expressionary is purchased, a minimum of 10% of all profits are donated to charity, and each customer can choose from a comprehensive list of our sponsored charities. Our company’s policy does and always will include charitable contributions that will continue to increase as Expressionary grows. While our customers are continuously provided with new ways to express themselves to their loved ones, our intent to make giving popular while helping others can be fulfilled.

We ask that you join us in this journey. If you have suggestions, we want to hear them. If you have an inspiring story, please share it with us. At Expressionary, it isn’t what we do that matters, it is the difference we make.
